NL-KVK-30214009-XM-DAC-7-PPR-240000508 PAX <narrative>PAX Protection of Civilians Program</narrative> The strategic objective of PAX's PoC Program is to achieve more proactive and inclusive protection and reduced civilian harm through working with civilians, authorities, and institutions—individually and together, from the grassroots level to the international—by raising awareness, implementing practical policy changes, and developing shared approaches to common people-centred security concerns. The PoC Program's approach is deeply rooted in principles of locally-led development and adaptive programming, both regarding its broader vision and operationally. Leveraging strategic partnerships and PAX’s unique role as advocate, practitioner, and convenor, the theory of change pursues four interconnected outcomes: insight, influence, capability, and solidarity. Together with trusted, expert partners in targeted countries (South Sudan, Iraq, Burkina Faso, Yemen), the program will foster connections and lessons learned across geographies with the aim that (inter)national policy and practice become more reflective of civilians’ experiences and priorities, and conflict-affected communities can better hold powerholders to account for delivering people-centred security.
